VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM

Established in 2006, the Town Committee on Aging identifies and considers the needs of older Rhinebeck residents and recommends improvements to programs and services for Rhinebeck's senior population. The Committee on Aging publishes a newsletter and a calendar (see below) that are both chock full of information about services and activities for seniors in and around Rhinebeck. The online versions of the newsletter and calendar are updated twice monthly. An abbreviated version is printed monthly for those who are not online. Volunteer for a the Committee on Aging by sending us this form.

The Town provides van service on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to take seniors shopping for groceries. Seniors aged 65 or older living in the Town of Rhinebeck who are capable of getting on and off a van without assistance are eligible for this free service. Just fill out our form and mail or email it to the Town Clerk's office, 80 East Market Street, Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
All meetings are held at Noon at Town Hall on the first Monday of the month. If it's a holiday, then the meeting is on the second Monday.

April 2019
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Carole Leib. She was
the driving force behind the Growing Older in Rhinebeck newsletter from its
first issue to the latest one. She single handedly created and edited each
print issue monthly and each online issue twice per month. This is the final
posting.

Shortly after the Committee on the Aging was created by the town board in
2006, the Committee conducted a survey of Rhinebeck’s older residents to
measure their needs and interests. The overwhelming result was that most
respondents were unaware of all the opportunities available in our
community. The newsletter was created by Carole to provide a
comprehensive source of information. Over the years she assembled an
impressive network of service providers who kept the information in the
newsletter current. As a result of Carole’s tireless efforts and persistence
the newsletter listed a wide variety of social, volunteer, and educational
opportunities.

In addition to being the driving force behind the newsletter, she was also an
active member of the community including a wide circle of friends.
She will be very much missed by all. Rest in peace, Carole.
